We all know college students have limited budgets when it comes to buying new software. One alternative is Google Docs. This free, online interface allows users to create text documents, forms, spreadsheets, and presentations. Some high-lighted features include group collaboration, tracking changes, and the standard formatting & printing offered by various text editors. Group collaboration allows users to invite another person or group to collaborate within your file. A great example would be a 4 person group, all creating 1 report – Each change or edit gets logged in a list as a safety net. Google Docs requires users to have a Gmail account to use this social, online application. Watch the video below for more information…

Many Mac users believe that it is not necessary to have virus protection for their computer, but if the Mac is running Windows Vista or XP, virus protection must be installed on the Windows side. Whether using Windows through a virtual machine, like Parallels, VM Ware Fusion, or if utilizing Windows through BootCamp, it still must be protected. For all UNH students, faculty, and staff, please visit http://virus.unh.edu to download McAfee VirusScan Enterprise. If you need assistance with virus protection, please call the CIS Help Desk at (603) 862-4242 or visit the Dimond Academic Commons IT Support Center.
A new web site has been launched to help students find their required books starting for Fall 2008. If the instructors enter their necessary course materials into the “Booklist” program, students will find the assigned books for each course in advance of returning this fall.
- Log into your Blackboard account
- Click the “MyUNH” tab in the upper left corner
- Click the “UNHBooklist” link on the left
- Select your course(s)
- Add the books to your “My Booklist”
- Print out the screen or download your booklist to a spreadsheet file
The development of the booklist program was made possible through the efforts of The University of New Hampshire Student Senate in cooperation with CIS – Academic Technology, but, most importantly, the booklist is a result of student feedback.
If you have any questions, please contact us.
Choose “UNH Booklists” as the request type
