Health Services Online!

Health Services knows that students are online and they want to meet you there. They’re continually updating their Web site to bring UNH students the most up-to-date information on health issues that impact college students. The site is also a great way to learn about the many services that Health Services provides to students and the larger UNH community. Health Services recognizes that nutrition is an important component to living well and loving the body one is born with. Learn about the non-diet approach, download recipes from the cookbook Good Eats: Quick and Easy Recipes for College Students and learn how to eat more fruits and vegetables.

Stress is a normal part of life but if left unmanaged can have major implications on one’s health and academic success. Learn stress management techniques and tools, download meditations from the CD Reflections for Mind, Body & Spirit, spin the wellness wheel, read up on how to get more ZZZs and much more!

Each year, University students get the flu which may result in missing classes and exams. This virus spreads rapidly among students because of close living conditions, lowered resistance, stress, etc., and campus communities face significant epidemics each winter. Learn about the prevention and treatment of colds and flu.

Concerned about your own drinking? Concerned about someone else’s use of alcohol? Health Services provides comprehensive education on alcohol (and other drugs and tobacco) to students. Take an online self- assessment, read up on tips for low-risk drinking. And the party at UNH is not as big as one may think! Learn about non-use at UNH.

Talking about sex and sexuality can be difficult and embarrassing but also positive and exciting. Health Services provide accurate and reliable information on sexual health for student to read in the privacy of their residence hall or apartment. Learn about contraceptive options, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), HIV, and UNH students writings on sexual feelings and attitudes.

In addition to calling and speaking to a triage nurse at Health Services, students may download a variety of self-care sheets written by Health Services’ physicians and nurse practitioners to obtain information and suggestions for the care of a variety of health issues/ailments (sore throats and colds, pink eye (conjunctivitis), stomach virus, and mono, etc.)

Yes, Health Services does have a library! The Resource Library is available to all UNH students, faculty and staff. It is packed with books, videos, DVDs, audios, brochures and other great materials for your research or personal use on a variety of health and wellness topics.
