UNH Grad finds a job using Twitter

The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper recently featured David Gallant, a recent UNH graduate and former CIS employee who was part of the UNH IT Pipeline team. Gallant found a job in less than 2 weeks of graduation and now works in the greater Boston area for a Social Media Marketing company. This article demonstrates the power of Social Networking and how it was used by David to begin his post-collegiate career.

iTunes Radio

Now that Ruckus is no longer available, students are forced to turn to other means for free music. While Pandora is a good resource, it’s not for everyone. A lesser-known option available is iTunes Radio, which is built right into iTunes with no fee. iTunes provides a wide variety of both Terrestrial and Internet radio stations from around the world. With over 3,500 stations, there is something for everyone. Since the music is streamed over the Internet, much of it is higher quality than that found when listening to a standard radio station in your car or home. It is even possible to create a “playlist” of radio stations so you don’t have to go searching for your favorite stations each time you want to listen. With limited free and legal music options available today, iTunes radio is certainly something worth checking out.

Basic website creation has become incredibly easy. With the advent of sites like Blogger and LiveJournal, it is a quick and painless task to quickly create your own blog. Perhaps you are not interested in blogging, but want a simple web page. There are a plethora of options, including pubpages (http://pubpages.unh.edu), which is offered by the university.
